Clem Geue started in the work in South Australia in 1933, and went to Sri Lanka in 1937. He returned to Western Australia in 1964 where he had the Oversight until he died in January 1980, aged 69. His sister, Gladys, was also in the work. - Geue, Gladys
Gladys Geue spent several years in the work in Sri Lanka. Clem was her brother and their family professed in the famous Bethel Mission in Australia. - Hawse, Les
Les Hawse was from Victoria, Australia and started in the work in 1927. He preached in Sri Lanka in the 1940s; then went to Malaysia in 1947 where he became overseer. - Hogg, Jean
Jean Hogg was from Victoria, Australia and started in the work in 1944 She went to Sri Lanka in 1947. In 1957 she crossed to Malaysia and spent the next 20 years there. In 1976 she returned to Victoria. - Mitchell, Alec 1955
Alec Mitchell and Jack Trigg were the first workers to go to Sri Lanka (then known as Ceylon) in 1927. Alec was born in Scotland, immigrated to New Zealand, professed in 1921 and went in the Work in 1922. After a year in Victoria, Australia he went to Sri Lanka in 1927 and then to Singapore in 1936 where he spent the rest of his days in the Work. He was interned in Changi Camp from 1942 to 1945 along with Arthur Shearer, Archie Wilson and Bert Cameron. He was Overseer of Singapore, Malaysia, Borneo, Thailand and Vietnam until 1974 when his memory failed. He then returned to NZ where he died in 1980 aged 84. - Morgan, Harry
Harry Morgan from Victoria, Australia started in the work in 1930 and went to Sri Lanka with Clem Geue in 1937. He continued there until his death in 1988 at the age of 80. He was given the oversight of Sri Lanka when Arthur Shearer left for Australia in 1973. - Morris, Alice & Vivie Hawse
Alice Morris and Vivie Hawse. Alice was born in 1891 in Tasmania, started in the work in 1919 and was one of the first sister workers to Sri Lanka in 1928, where she continued to preach until she died there in 1962, aged 71 and is buried there. Violet Florence "Vivie" Hawse was a sister of Les Hawse, and another sister Alma was also in the work. Violet was born in Tasmania in 1903 and also worked in Sri Lanka. She married a Mr. McDonald at some point, and died in Victoria in 2006, aged 103. - Pioneers to Sri Lanka
