Tom was born March 8, 1881 in Co. Tyrone, Northern Ireland, died Nov 3, 1964 and is buried at Ivy Hill Cemetery, Malcom, Iowa.

He came to Canada in 1905.

He and John Doak were boyhood playmates, who grew up just 1 mile apart.
