Cranberry juice (Ocean Spray preferred, no &#8220;blends&#8221;)<br \/>\n1\/2oz. Contrineau<br \/>\n1oz. Vodka<br \/>\n1\/2oz. Lime juice (fresh squeezed is nice, but RealLime will work)<br \/>\nCrushed ice<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>BEST EVER SANGRIA\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0(OUR FAVORITE!)<br \/>\n***FAMILY FAVORITE***<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1 fifth Lambrusco wine (25.4 oz) (1 bottle red wine)<br \/>\nJuice of 1 lemon, strained<br \/>\nJuice of 1 orange, strained<br \/>\nOPT:\u00a0 \u00bd c Grand Mariner<br \/>\n2-6 TBs sugar<\/p>\n<p>1 orange, 1 lemon, and 1 lime, thinly sliced<br \/>\n1 qt Sierra Mist &#8211; optional<\/p>\n<p>Combine ingredients in large pitcher and stir til sugar is dissolve.<br \/>\nAdd soda and fruit slices.\u00a0 CHILL.<br \/>\nServe with plenty of ice in large wine glasses<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>THE BEST SANGRIA\u00a0 &#8211;\u00a0 Serves 4<br \/>\n(from Cooks Illustrated)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>2 large juice oranges, washed; one orange sliced; remaining orange juiced<br \/>\n1 large lemon, washed and sliced<br \/>\n1\/4 cup sugar<br \/>\n1\/4 cup Triple Sec<br \/>\n(1) 750 milliliter bottle inexpensive, fruity, medium-bodied red wine, chilled. \u00a0 (Spanish red wine &#8211; cost around $8 &#8211;\u00a0 was wonderful!)<\/p>\n<p>1. Add sliced orange and lemon and sugar to large pitcher; mash gently with wooden spoon until fruit releases some juice, but is not totally crushed, and sugar dissolves, about 1 minute. Stir in orange juice, Triple Sec, and wine; refrigerate for at least 2,<br \/>\nand up to 8, hours.<\/p>\n<p>2. Before serving, add 6 to 8 ice cubes and stir briskly to distribute settled fruit and pulp; serve immediately.<\/p>\n<p>NOTE:\u00a0 The longer sangria sits before drinking, the more smooth and mellow it will taste. A full day is best, but if that\u2019s impossible, give it an absolute minimum of two hours to sit. Use large, heavy, juicy oranges and lemons for the best flavor. Doubling or tripling the recipe is fine, but you\u2019ll have to switch to a large punch bowl in place of the pitcher.<\/p>\n<p>Don\u2019t add any other fruit; no need for Cointrineau or expensive wine.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>KOKOMO Drink\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0(Rev. 1\/2\/10)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1 oz Vodka<br \/>\n1 oz Cr\u00e8me de cacao Liquor<br \/>\n\u00bd oz Cr\u00e8me of Coconut<br \/>\n\u00bd oz Amaretto Liquor<br \/>\n1 heaping cup of vanilla ice cream or just cream&#8212;&#8211;try with 2 c<br \/>\n1 c crushed ice<\/p>\n<p>Blend till smooth.<br \/>\nStrain into cocktail glass.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>TRADITIONAL SUNRISE<br \/>\n(Chess likes Amaretto Sunrise)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>3 parts Tequila<br \/>\n1 part grenadine<br \/>\n6 parts orange juice<br \/>\nOrange slice and cherry in hiball glass<br \/>\nVariations<br \/>\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Tequila Sunset \u2013 substitute blackberry brandy for grenadine<br \/>\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Caribbean Sunrise \u2013 use rum instead of tequila<br \/>\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Vodka (or Russian) Sunrise \u2013 use vodka instead of tequila<br \/>\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Southern Sunrise \u2013 use Southern Comfort instead of tequila<br \/>\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Amaretto Sunrise &#8211; use Di Saronno amaretto instead of tequila<br \/>\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Florida Sunrise &#8211; use equal measures of pineapple and orange juice<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>WALLABY DARNED (Outback &#8211; peach smoothie)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1 cup frozen sliced peaches<br \/>\n2 ounces champagne<br \/>\n1 ounce peach schnapps<br \/>\n1 ounce vodka<br \/>\n4 ounces (1\/2 cup) Kern&#8217;s peach nectar**<br \/>\n2 or 3 ice cubes<\/p>\n<p>**Instead of adding Kern&#8217;s Peach Nectar, if you add 1\/2 Cup of Frozen Bacardi Fuzzy Naval Mix, it tastes exactly like the drink version served at Outback Steakhouses.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>SILVER CLOUD (quantity for 1 drink)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1 oz amaretto almond liquer<br \/>\n1 oz Kahlua coffee liquer<br \/>\n4 oz milk<br \/>\n1-1\/2 oz whipped cream **<\/p>\n<p>Mix amaretto, kahlua and milk together.<br \/>\nFill with ice cubes<br \/>\nTop with whipped cream<br \/>\n**can substitute ice cream for milk &amp; ice and leave out whipped cream.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>LIMONCELLO LEMONADE (OLIVE GARDEN \u2013 Jane Bengtson)<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>FOR THE LEMON SYRUP:<\/strong><br \/>\n1\/4 cup hot water<br \/>\n1\/4 cup granulated sugar<br \/>\n4 teaspoons lemon juice<br \/>\nMake lemon syrup by combining in saucepan: hot water, sugar and lemon juice.<br \/>\nCook til sugar is totally dissolved.\u00a0 COOL.<\/p>\n<p><strong>FOR THE MIXED DRINK:<\/strong><br \/>\n\u00be to 1-1\/2 oz lemon syrup (see above)<br \/>\n1 ounce Smirnoff citrus infused vodka\u00a0 (can half this amount!)<br \/>\n1 ounce limoncello liqueur (Italian liquor)<br \/>\n2 ounces lemonade concentrate (Minute Maid or Country Time)<br \/>\n1 to 2 cups ice<br \/>\n<strong>GARNISH<\/strong> with slice of lemon<\/p>\n<p>Make drink by mixing in blender on hi speed: lemon syrup, vodka, limoncello and lemonade.
