In 1942, during WW II George Walker wrote this 3 page letter to the US Selective Service Board in Philadelphia, PA. Page 2 of 3 The purpose was to help the selective service board properly classify the ministry re: military service. Bill, Maggie & daughter May Carroll. William Charles (Bill) Carroll was the first Overseer of Victoria, Australia. Bill and his wife, Margaret (Hastings) Carroll were from the village of Rathmolyon, Ireland, located about 25 miles NW of Dublin. Bill Carroll was born August 15, 1876, at Newtown, Moynalty, Kells, County Meath, the eldest of 6 children. Margaret was born April 20, 1875. Bill Carroll and Maggie Hastings were married on June 6, 1901, in the Church of Ireland at Rathmolyon, County Meath and their daughter, May, was born in 1902. Bill and Maggie Carroll entered the work in 1903 and arrived in Australia in 1913. Maggie died in 1944 and Bill died in 1953. Bill's brother Jack and sisters May and Fannie were also workers until their deaths. - Christie,Dave tent Hawaii
Christie, David (Dave) & Emma "Emily" F. (nee Wilson) Dave was born May 31, 1884, in Rathmolyon, Ireland; died Sept 30, 1969, in Multnomah Co., Oregon. Emily was born May 8, 1883, in Co. Fermanagh, N. Ireland; died Feb. 10, 1975, in Multnomah Co., Oregon. Dave entered work in 1905 per 1905 Workers List; He labored in Scotland, N. Ireland, Hawaii, California, Maryland, Michigan They are on 1926-27 List in Hawaii; on 1946-1947 Workers List in Hawaii Married Nov. 27, 1923 in Port Angeles, Clallam Co. Washington. Two children: Betty and Dave. Both were workers who married without permission. Dave was a cousin of Jack Carroll, who made an announcement and statement concerning workers marrying at the 1923 Milltown Convention. They pioneered the work in Hawaii. - Church of St James-West Hanney, England
