Barbour, Robt Archie Turner, Nelson Retchford. Robert Barbour from New Zealand, began as Overseer of South Australia in 1946. Archie Turner pioneered Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland in 1928, labored in Canada; Overseer of Queensland Australia 1959-1971 and Overseer of Scotland 1971. Nelson Retchford from South Australia entered work in 1924, preached mostly in India and SA. He was one of pioneers to Burma (Myanmar) and he died in 1989. - Benton Arthur (Group)

1901 Bill and Maggie Carroll Wedding Bill, Maggie & daughter May Carroll. William Charles (Bill) Carroll was the first Overseer of Victoria, Australia. Bill and his wife, Margaret (Hastings) Carroll were from the village of Rathmolyon, Ireland, located about 25 miles NW of Dublin. Bill Carroll was born August 15, 1876, at Newtown, Moynalty, Kells, County Meath, the eldest of 6 children. Margaret was born April 20, 1875. She was from Coragh, Rathmolyon, Co. Meath, Ireland. They were married on June 6, 1901, in the Church of Ireland at Rathmolyon, County Meath. Their daughter was born in 1902. Bill and Maggie Carroll entered the work in 1903 and arrived in Australia in 1913. Maggie died in 1944 and Bill died in 1953. Bill & Margaret entered the work in 1903 and arrived in Australia in 1905. Their only child, a daughter, May, was born in 1902 in Ireland and married an Australian man, Adolphus ("Dolph") Schultz. Margaret Carroll died in 1944, and Bill Carroll died on November 13, 1953, aged 77 years. Bill Carroll was born August 15, 1876, at Newtown, Moynalty, Kells, County Meath, Ireland. He was the eldest of 6 children: William (Bill), John T. (Jack), Mary (Mae), Agnes (Aggie), Frances (Fannie) and Cecilia Primrose. Margaret Hastings had two brothers, Warren and Thomas Hastings, and possibly other siblings. This ship was built for Anchor Line, British flag, in 1904. It was 500 feet long by 58 feet wide, weighed 9223 gross tons, and held 1428 passengers. The Six Carroll siblings. L to R: Jack, Primrose (Carroll) Perrott, Frances (Fannie), May, Bill and Agnes (Carroll) Weir. Ms. Perrott was the only one who did not profess, although she was in the work in Canada for a time. Four were in the work until they died. Two sisters and BIll were married. Herman Beaber, along with Dave Christie who entered work in 1904, & unidentified person. Herman Beaber was one of the workers interned in the Philippine Islands during WW II. David (Dave) Christie – married Emily Wilson in 1923. Dave died in 1969 and Emily in 1975. Dave was a cousin to the Carrolls. On behalf of Dave and Emily Christie and their marriage, Jack Carroll made an announcement and statement concerning workers marrying at the 1923 Milltown Convention. Fermanagh, N. Ireland; died Feb. 10, 1975, in Multnomah Co., Oregon. Dave entered work in 1905 per 1905 Workers List; He labored in Scotland, N. Ireland, Hawaii, California, Maryland, Michigan They are on 1926-27 List in Hawaii; on 1946-1947 Workers List in Hawaii Married Nov. 27, 1923 in Port Angeles, Clallam Co. Washington. Two children: Betty and Dave. Both were workers who married without permission. Dave was a cousin of Jack Carroll, who made an announcement and statement concerning workers marrying at the 1923 Milltown Convention. Edward Cooney died on June 20, 1960, age 93, in Mildura, Victoria, Australia, in the home of Richard and Emily Greenaway, 32 years after his excommunication. He is buried in Mildura Cemetery. Edward Cooney from Enniskillen, Co. Fermanagh, N. Ireland He was excommunicated in 1928 for various reasons. Among them was the failure of his attempt to convince the leaders that they had abandoned the original tenets of the faith. When his preaching became more and more in conflict with current policies, he was ousted and those who agreed with him were also expelled. They formed a separate branch which is referred to as the Cooneyites. He continued his worldwide missions as an itinerant evangelist until his death in 1960. Details are on TTT. - Cooney, Ed 1921

Edward Cooney #1 Edward Cooney from Enniskillen, Co. Fermanagh, N. Ireland. He was born in 1867, became an early convert of William Irvine and became a Worker. From 1901-1928, for 27 years, he was a very prominent Irish 2x2 Worker, occasionally called the co-leader, co-founder. He was excommunicated in 1928 and from then until his death in 1960, he was an independent evangelist.
